Waddle Waddle Limp Hop Whoa!!

Ashley and I created a new dance the other day..it's called Waddle Waddle Limp Hop Whoa...

I got this bright idea a few days ago that she and I should go to the store to shop for Easter fixins so that poor Bill wouldn't have to go after working all day. Next time I get a bright idea, someone turn out the light, please!

Ashley is almost 6 months pregnant and is to the "waddling" point of her pregnancy AND baby girl was making her belly hurt. I stepped wrong on my knee 2 weeks ago so I am hobbling around with a knee brace and my cane.

We get there and park as close as we can and proceed into the store. We can already see that it's going to be an ordeal because I can barely make it across the parking lot without getting run over. We get in there, grab a basket, and start shopping. Ordered Michael's birthday cake, grabbed the bakery items from our list, then off we go up and down the aisles. Waddle, waddle, limp, limp in single file. Neither one of us is familiar with the store and Mike used to work there, so every 5 minutes or so, Ashley stopped to call him on the cell phone to see where something was. Then off she'd go on a wild goose chase to find the elusive baking soda, vinegar, etc. Several times as soon as she'd get back, I'd realize I forgot something several aisles back and send her back to get it. Poor Ashley would look at me like "Calgon, take me away!", but being the brave little soldier she is, she'd head back to get it. About halfway through the trip, I was rolling along pretty good, when a lady decided to come out from a side aisle real fast..and I almost mowed her down with my cart. Whoa!!! I stopped abruptly, but the cart kept rolling with my feet sliding behind it..my knee popped and up I went on one leg..hop, hop, hop. The lady didn't even glance my way..just kept rolling merrily along. So now I'm limping even more than I was before. Did a little more shopping and headed for the checkout. Got almost to the checkout and realized I'd forgotten drinks. I glanced at Ashley..she knew I was about to ask her to go back for them, but the look she gave told me I better just skip the drinks. Unloaded the cart, paid for my stuff, grabbed my cane and headed for the car. Halfway to the door, my knee buckled on me one more time and up I went hopping on one leg again! A lady behind me wasn't about to stop, so she went flying around us..it looked like she almost knocked Ashley down. I stood there a minute until I could hobble again, then we headed to the car and finally made it home.

No more bright ideas for awhile, right Ashley?
