Singing in the Rain...

Rain? What's that? We haven't seen very much this Spring at all...almost drought like conditions. I was walking around my veggie garden yesterday and it was looking pretty pitiful, even though I water it at least 3 times a week. It was saying "Help me!!".

This morning I woke up to thunder and lightning, and rain, glorious rain! I looked out at my garden and I swear I could see the tomatoes tap dancing to the tune of "Singing in the Rain". They were happy little maters! It rained for about 3 hours and everything looked much better this afternoon. Of course, the poor pond is lower than its ever been, so we need some more good soakers before it'll be happy. I think the flower gardens liked the rain too. I've been waiting for this one Canna to bloom so I can see what color it is, and sure enough, after the rain, it bloomed late this afternoon. It is neon orange and yellow mixed. I've never seen one like it...really pretty. A friend in Georgia sent me a whole box of Canna bulbs last Summer, and this is the first one to bloom. I'll try to grab a picture of it tomorrow and post so I can share its beauty:)

My nephew Micah is coming to spend the week with me, Bill, and the dogs. He and Bill are going to camp out on our land tomorrow night...Micah is excited! I think Bill is too, LOL! I'm looking forward to spending time with the little fella...I miss him!! I plan to show him some neat birds, do alot of swimming in our Cannibal Pot swimming pool, and build a scarecrow with some of Bills old postal uniforms. Should be a fun week:) Looking forward to seeing my Mama too. She's bringing Micah. I'm trying real hard to find her a house here that she just can't resist..then her and Dad can sell out and move here:)

That's it for now...gotta go see what late night bargains I can find to buy and resell on Ebay:)

Adios!
