Crying Baby

Got a rude awakening at 4:00 AM this morning...I could hear a loud sound outside my bedroom window. I tried to ignore it and go back to sleep, but the more I ignored it, the more I convinced myself that someone had left a newborn baby on my property (stranger things have happened at my place!). Finally had to get up and investigate..got to the door and remembered something I had read online about serial killers using a recording of a baby to lure their victims..now I KNOW it's a myth, but in my early morning stupor I suddenly couldn't remember if it was true or false, LOL...so I got hubby up to go out and look..he grabbed a knife on the way in case someone was waiting to jump him. He opened the door and the sound stopped..but he never heard an animal or bird leaving...it must've sneaked off very quietly.

Got up this morning and googled "animal that sounds like a crying baby"...played some sound bytes...and figured it out right away...it was a Fox!! I have been seeing what I thought was a fox for several weeks, but never got a good enough look to say for sure that's what it is...now I can verify that we do indeed have a red fox hanging around our property. Now if I can just get him to pose for pictures.....
