Standing Out In a Crowd

Last week, when the freezing rain was coming down in sheets, the goldfinches were all over the place. I noticed one that really stood out in the crowd. It is a "leucistic" American Goldfinch, meaning it is partially albino. It was white, with a bright yellow head, and faint black stripes on its wings. It was really cool...first albino bird I've seen. It stuck around all day, but I guess it flew the coop the next day, because I have't seen it since. Darn it..was hoping it'd stick around all Winter.

Pretty, isn't it?

I loved the picture. Now that bird does stand out in a crowd. I'm bobcat watching here. The little bugger was in the garage yesterday when I was trying to get me and the boys in the house after a run to McDonalds. I had to sit and wait and finally get out of the van and stomp my foot before it ran. Now Chick tells me I should never threaten it or it might attack me. I'm way bigger than it is and I still have my teeth so GRRRRRRRRR!

Love,

MOM
