Life in the Boonies

This is what life in the Boonies is all about...

Who could ask for anything more???

That's the Last Time I Try to Clean Out the Fridge!!

This morning, I was doing some cleaning to get ready for company, and the stinky fridge REALLY needed cleaning out. So everything is going along fine...UNTIL THE LAST SHELF! I took it out and was fixing to put it in the sink to wash it, when

BAM!!!

Damn shelf exploded on me! It shattered into a million jillion tiny shards, which became missiles. Scared the shit out of me, lemme tell ya! I was left standing there in glass, with glass in my hair, on my clothes, in the sink, across the room on the table, up on the windowsill...glass everywhere. Of course the baby came running to see what the noise was, so I had to chase him back into the living room and corral him in his Pack N Play so he wouldn't get cut by the glass. Thank GOD he wasn't standing under my feet when it exploded. It's a miracle I didn't get cut to pieces too. Took me about 2 hours to clean all the glass out of the sink and off the floor, and I'm still finding pieces with my feet!

Still don't know what happened...I wasn't even running water over it when it exploded..I was just holding it. I can tell you one thing...that glass is NOT safety glass, that's for sure!

Red & Blue Christmas Birds

This morning I looked out the window, and my Pecan tree was no longer a Pecan tree. It was a Christmas tree decorated with red and blue birds! There must've been at least 20 of them...Red Cardinals and Bluejays..sitting in the various bare branches. It's like they knew I needed something to get me into the Christmas spirit...

Thank you birds...you will be rewarded with lots of extra Black Oil Sunflower seeds tomorrow morning, and some nice birdseed bells on Christmas Morning:)

When In Doubt..Throw it Out the Window!

My digital camera has been having major problems the last 3 weeks or so, and I have been threatening to throw it out the window. I really love my Mavica though and hated to replace it with another camera. I looked up the flat rate repair price for it since it's out of warranty, and it was gonna cost me 171.00 (almost as much as I can get a new camera for). My jaw dropped when I saw that price, and I got prepared to say goodbye to my old faithful camera and ask Santa Bill for a new one. Right as I was leaving that website, my hand slipped and I knocked the camera off my desk...it crashed to the floor with a loud bang. I picked it up to see if it was in a million pieces, and to my astonishment I turned it on and it's working perfectly now!!

Hmm...what other things do I have laying around the house that need repaired? Maybe I should throw it all to the floor and see if I can do another 0 dollar repair job on them.

Hooray my camera is back...I knew she wouldn't fail me!
