Star Struck!

I just got back home from the County Fair and I am in Heaven. I got to meet Terry Fator IN PERSON! Man is that dude talented! I've never seen anything like it. He put on a GREAT show. After the show, we were able to get an autographed picture and he also signed my tie dyed shirt, AND he was nice enough to pose for a picture with me and Michael. I was so star struck I almost cried, LOL!









If you ever get a chance to see him in person, don't hesitate to do it..it's the greatest show on Earth:)

Mexican Jumping Dog

I found some Mexican Jumping Beans on Ebay (the kind that used to be up at the counter at your local 711 when you were a kid) and knew my Grandson Michael just HAD to have some. I ordered them and they arrived today. He had a blast with them..watching them jump around in a box. My dog kept trying to eat them but we kept him away..NOT! Michael walked away and left the jumping beans alone on the floor for about 15 seconds..came back and there were 4 missing! He said "Granny..did Caligula eat my jumping beans?". I ran over there and sure enough, there are 4 less than we started out with. Looked all over the floor to make sure they just didn't get knocked out of the box. But they are nowhere to be found and I strongly suspect the dog did indeed eat them! So if you see a husky wearing a sombrero, shaking maracas, and singing the "Frito Bandito" song, don't worry, he's not rabid..he's just got the Jumping Bean Jive...

Put On Your Hard Hat

Put on your hard hat..we're going hummingbird watching!

It's that time again...time for the hummers to leave the Northern states and head South for the Winter.




I have 2 feeders out..one in the front and one in the back, and you can see them all day long..flitting to and fro, fighting for the right to sip the nectar. You can sit out and watch them, but better put on a hard hat and a hummingbird proof vest..or be prepared to duck and cover, because when they are stocking up for their loooong journey South, NOTHING will stop them, not even a human that happens to get in their way. We've never been hit by one, but have had lots of "Close Encounters of the Hummingbird Kind".

Get your feeders filled and enjoy the show! It'll be over by October, so enjoy it while you can..it's the Greatest Show on Earth!
